Black Queer Power Names Atlanta Native, Tijuan Bess, Vice President of Community Development

Black Queer Power, founded in 2019, expands its commitment to community development and economic empowerment of vulnerable communities, with specific interest in Black and Brown Queer people. The movement based organization opens 2020 by naming Deandre Tijuan Bess as its VP of Community Development. Tijuan, an Atlanta native is deeply passionate about creating avenues of economic independence. As a member of organizations like He Is Valuable, Inc, Bess has seen with extensive clarity, the housing crisis that has enveloped places like the city in which he was born and raised, and the need for sustainable solutions.With a host of talents and strategies, the new VP looks forward to helping develop Atlanta in a way that doesn't displace its most vulnerable populations.
As Vice President of Community Affairs, Tijuan will help galvanize community around permanent solutions to economic issues, facilitate development of community incubators, and lead in innovation toward permanent community centered and powered solutions.
